“The Brock Street Lounge by Brock Street Brewery is easily the nicest patio I’ve ever been to. It’s on the third floor of the brewery building, so the views are lovely, and the drinks are so delicious.”

The third floor of the Brock Street Brewing Company is out of another time. The company calls it a “Prohibition-style rooftop patio and lounge.” You can order the company’s craft beer offerings, of course, but you can also enjoy handcrafted cocktails and spirits all designed by the team at the brewery. Light fare is on offer but the drinks are the real star of the show. Looking for a venue for your next party? The third floor is available to book as event space as well.

“As an outdoor enthusiast, I’d have
to go with Slabtown Cider Co. in
Uxbridge. You can’t beat enjoying delicious wood-fired pizza and craft cider surrounded by beautiful field, forest and orchard views!”

Kailee Somers
Event Specialist, Spark Centre

Slabtown is a cider company with history. While they’ve only been around as a cider producer since 2017, their apples come from 90 acres of historic Oak Ridges Moraine. They have made it a part of their mission to honour the legacy of their fields — starting with their name! The original settlement in the area was built around a lumber mill and nicknamed Slab Town after the piles of wood around the mill. The large patio is perfect for cold drinks and good eats with friends.

“Butchie’s in Whitby had me at smoked meat (drool). And you should see the list of sides. But I digress. Order your meal and head outside to the year-round
patio — it’s on more than an acre of conserved green space.”

Lisa Van De Geyn
Editorial Director, The Spark

This eatery by Food Network personality Andrea Nicholson is known for its smoked meats, fried chicken, sustainable seafood, rotation of incredible side dishes, and homemade pie and ice cream (have you started the car yet?). The patio, called Butchie’s Backyard, is a year-round, dog-friendly creekside picnic spot where you can enjoy everything on the menu with your pooch by your side.
