Shopping local is as important as ever, as businesses retool their products and plans to emerge from the pandemic. There are so many one-of-a-kind shopping destinations in Durham Region, and supporting these stores and services means supporting the creative, passionate entrepreneurs behind them. Here’s just a few of the places we’re excited to check out this season.

Little Buck Shop
Owners Marianne and Shane James were inspired to start this headwear and bathing suit company when their first child was born premature; some of their proceeds go to NICUs. This cute boutique features their in-house line of ball caps, toques, bucket hats and swimsuits for little ones, as well as other adorable goods.

Bean & Basket
Part coffee shop, part boutique, this little gem features a curated selection of sustainable and locally made items, highlighting makers from Durham Region (you’ll find everything from eco-conscious kitchenware to handmade jewellery, and more). Even the coffee is roasted in the area!

Pink Lemon Décor
Lovers of clean lines, retro and typography, this is the shop for you. At Pink Lemon, you’ll find signs and prints to pretty up any space, vintage pieces, home goods, and more. There’s even a mobile shop you can book for events, housed in the cutest soft pink trailer, so you can get your Pink Lemon fix on the road.

Aide Bodycare
If you’re looking for natural, clean body care, look no further: At Aide, you’ll find handmade soaps, scrubs, lotions, bath soaks, bath bombs, nail care and so much more. Plus you’ll find carefully selected complementary products, from luxurious Turkish towels and robes to gorgeous teas and treats.
